Phoenix Vega was not born just as a name, but as a way of gathering under one signature everything I compose: songs, instrumental pieces and ideas that had been appearing separately for years. It is the place where those stories —about people who are no longer here, about what is hard to let go of, about specific nights and places— find a shared language without losing what first brought them to life.

Rather than presenting itself as a character, Phoenix Vega works as a creative home I return to whenever I write or record. The name sums up a way of approaching music through emotion and memory, with the intention of building a body of work that feels recognisable and honest, open to different registers yet faithful to the intimate core running through each release.

Origin of the project

Phoenix Vega began to take shape in 2024, after years of writing and composing songs and pieces that stayed in notebooks, demos and scattered folders. The project appears when the need to turn certain emotions into music —the ones that don’t quite fit into an ordinary conversation— stops being something diffuse and becomes a decision to share them with whoever might need them.

From the outset, the idea was not to fit into a single scene or follow a single formula, but to open a space where each release could show a different side of the same sensitivity: grief and memory, the quiet of instrumental pieces, the Mediterranean roots of some songs, and those nights that deserve to stay in the form of lyrics.
