About this release
There are songs about someone who has gone far away, and songs about someone who has gone for good. This is one of the second kind, and I would rather say it that plainly than hide it behind the word distance.
I did not write it to stay in the sadness. Most of the time it feels more like company than grief: the idea that someone can go on being part of your everyday life even when they are no longer in front of you. In how you look at the moon, in who you talk to when there is no one else in the room.
If there is a promise in the song, it is not to forget or to get over it, but that there is a reunion waiting at the end of all this. And that until then that person, one of the closest bonds I have had, goes on living in me in a very concrete way, not as a blurred memory.

I do not want to say who it is about. There are things I would rather leave in the song and not on the page. But one thing, yes: I did not write it thinking of just any love, but from a very close presence, the kind that for me is family and goes on being family even when they are gone. That is why I kept the small scenes instead of telling the story: a light that never quite leaves, a voice you think you hear in the silence, a hug that has not arrived yet but you know it will. And if the chorus insists so much on the word eterno, it is because I found no other that said the same without falling short.
