About this release
Of all the paraphernalia of this time of year (lights, shop windows, the usual list) only one thing interested me: what happens when you look at someone and, for a second, you need nothing else to feel that it is Christmas. This song comes from there, not from a tree or a laid table.
It is one of those songs sung to a single person, even if it plays for everyone. There is cold outside and warmth inside, there is a hug that stands in for home when the real home is far away or simply changes every year, and there is, above all, the feeling of wanting that one moment never to end.
I did not write it thinking of a traditional carol, but of a song that could play in any house where two people are looking at each other instead of at their phones for a while. If this particular Christmas has a rule, it is this one: switch off what is outside, pay attention to whoever is in front of you.

Song notes
There is a small miracle in the lyrics, not the spectacular kind: the people you love being in the same room again, even if only for one night. That is why it insists so much on the fire, the hug, the voices singing together. And if the chorus repeats, it is on purpose: I wanted it to stick the way real carols stick, the ones you know how to sing without ever having learnt them.
Lyrics
Se dibujan las estrellas
Entre luces de cristal
Las sombras se desvanecen
Y comienza un nuevo andar
Es el frío que nos une
Los abrazos que se dan
Navidad trae un milagro
Que nos vuelve a encontrar
Es el frío que nos une
Los abrazos que se dan
Navidad trae un milagro
Que nos vuelve a encontrar
Y en cada risa, hay un eco
Un reflejo de verdad
Los deseos que comparto
Son contigo nada más
Porque en tu mirada
Brilla la Navidad
Y cada recuerdo
Nos envuelve en paz
Cantan nuestras almas
Al compás de un mismo hogar
Hoy somos la llama
Que no deja de brillar
Las calles se visten de sueños
El aroma a hogar
En el aire suenan cuentos
Que nunca se olvidarán
Y en cada luz veo el cielo
Y un mensaje que es de paz
Es la magia de tus besos
Lo que me hace celebrar
Que esta noche sea eterna
Que se quede este lugar
Los latidos de este invierno
Son los que quiero guardar
Cantan nuestras almas
Al compás de un mismo hogar
Hoy somos la llama
Que no deja de brillar
Que esta noche sea eterna
Que se quede este lugar
Los latidos de este invierno
Son los que quiero guardar
Cantan nuestras almas
Al compás de un mismo hogar
Hoy somos la llama
Que no deja de brillar

Hear it before anyone else
I share the news as it happens: new songs, giveaways, and anything that doesn't fit anywhere else. No noise: only when there's something to say.
