Serenidad En Mí was the first thing I released as Phoenix Vega, and it's no accident that it's instrumental. I didn't feel like explaining anything yet. I wanted the music to speak before I did.
The piece doesn't tell a story. It's more like a place: just under four minutes where, on purpose, not much happens, so everyone can slow down in their own way. I like to think of the title backwards: the serenity isn't in the song, the song leaves room for yours to show up.
If I had to sum up what I was after with this first step: less noise, more space. Everything I've made since comes, one way or another, from that idea.
