About this release
Serenidad En Mí was the first thing I released as Phoenix Vega, and it is no accident that it is instrumental. I did not feel like explaining anything yet. I wanted the music to speak before I did.
The piece does not tell a story. It is more of a place: a little under four minutes where, on purpose, not much happens, so that each person can slow down in their own way. I like to think of the title the other way round: the serenity is not in the piece, the piece leaves room for yours to appear.
If I had to sum up what I was after with this first step: less noise and more space. Everything I have made since comes, one way or another, from that idea.

Song notes
It is a piece meant for calm, but the label falls short. I think of it as a place to stay a while, rather than a background not to be listened to. The silences weigh as much as the notes, and that is the hardest thing to get right without it feeling empty.

Hear it before anyone else
I share the news as it happens: new songs, giveaways, and anything that doesn't fit anywhere else. No noise: only when there's something to say.
