Song notes

It is about the times we leave something for later and later never comes. Not for lack of wanting: for lack of being able. By the time you notice, the chance has gone and it does not come back.

The lyric is very short on purpose. Eight lines, and none of them explains anything. «Dices "luego" / Y yo ya estoy» (you say later, and I am already here) already holds the whole song: one person postponing, the other who has been there a while. And «No por irme / Por no volver» marks the difference between leaving and being unable to return.

After the last line there is a high "dong", and it is my favourite part. That is where what had to be said ends and the other thing begins, the part sung without words. I wanted that step to be heard. No door slams there; there is acceptance. Things happen, sometimes we do not arrive in time for reasons we did not choose, and anger does not fix it. Neither does too much sadness. The moment of realising comes to all of us, and realising is already something.

There is no reproach in it for anyone. Some people enjoy their time in company and some enjoy it alone, and both ways are fine. You live your life the way you want, taking care not to hurt anyone. And if someone still finds your way too much, that is a weight you do not have to carry.

Lyrics

Dices “luego” Y yo ya estoy Cuando quieras Puede que no No por irme Por no volver Lo que no fue Ya no será Uh-uh Uh, uh-uh Uh, uh, uh-uh-uh Uh-uh Uh, uh-uh Uh-uh-uh

Hear it before anyone else

I share the news as it happens: new songs, giveaways, and anything that doesn't fit anywhere else. No noise: only when there's something to say.
