About this release
I was coming from a whole album of ballads and my body asked for the opposite: a song to dance to. And if I was going to let go, I wanted to do it in my language and in my place. That is how this nu-disco track in Valencian about a summer night in Gandia came out.
The lyrics pass through places that really exist: the Serpis running down to the sea, the breeze of La Safor, the Grau, the smell of orange blossom. But it is not a tourist postcard. It is one specific night, with someone whose hand you hold at the water's edge, and a city that at that hour blends into that person. It is never clear whether I am singing to her or to the place, and I like it that way.
Underneath the dancing there is a small thing that for me is the heart of the song: turning fear into melody, letting the night and the company take the fright off you. I did not want it to be only a party. Under the shine there is someone who, for one night, stops being sad.

Song notes
I played on purpose with the confusion between the city and the person. When I say she lights up my voice or that I hand her my soul, it works for someone and it works for the place. Gandia here is not a backdrop, it is almost another character, with its streets, its harbour and its river running down to the sea. I put in the real names of the region without fear: I wanted anyone from here to recognise their home, and anyone who is not to imagine it. There are things that only come out in my own language, and a party night in Gandia was one of them.
Lyrics
Uh-uh-uh
Gandia i tu
I jo t'entregue l'ànima sencera
Oh-oh, nit a Gandia i estima
I tu em fas volar
I jo t'entregue l'ànima sencera
Uh-uh, nit a Gandia i estima
I tu em fas volar
I jo t'entregue l'ànima sencera
Oh-oh, nit a Gandia i estima
I tu em fas volar
I tu em fas volar
Em fas volar

Hear it before anyone else
I share the news as it happens: new songs, giveaways, and anything that doesn't fit anywhere else. No noise: only when there's something to say.
