The fourth one with Gemma Isasi, and the most of-our-time: the lyrics are hers, and they're about something you couldn't have sung quite the same way twenty years ago — falling for someone at a distance, through a screen, when the whole relationship fits into a photo and a kiss sent in the small hours.
What I liked most about the lyrics is that they don't hide the uncertainty. There's desire and there's hope, yes, but also that question that won't go away: is this real for the other person, or only for me? It clings to small signs — a kiss on the screen, a message that arrives late — and decides to believe in them, even knowing there's no guarantee. There's something very honest about singing that without resolving it.
I produced it at night and for the night: minimal, warm, with a Spanish guitar that gives it a closeness and a touch of nostalgia — as if the whole song fit into a dark room with a phone glowing in it. Gemma's voice sits right up front, almost in your ear, because the whole song is exactly that: someone talking to a person who isn't there, hoping that one day they'll answer.

When Gemma sent me this lyric, the first thing I thought was how current it was: a love story built entirely out of what we have on hand today — a photo, a message, a kiss sent through a screen at some late hour of the night. I didn't want to cool it down with synths; the opposite, really — I wanted to give some human warmth to something that usually happens down a cable.
That's why I leaned it on a Spanish guitar. The contrast felt right to me: the oldest, warmest tool I know put to work for the newest, coldest way we have of loving each other. I kept Gemma's voice very close, barely any reverb, so it sounded like a confidence — someone talking to you quietly through the phone, not someone singing on a stage.
There's an insistence in the lyric — asking the other person when they'll come, wanting to break their fear — that could sound like pressure if it isn't sung right. I preferred it to sound like what I think it actually is: not a demand, but an enormous longing said under the breath.
