Of the whole record, this is the one that sounds most like me. It's about people who don't say things out loud but feel them all the same. Being quiet doesn't mean being empty. The lyrics stand up for the languages that make no noise: a look, a gesture, a silence that keeps you company. I see myself in that calm sea the song talks about, someone who doesn't always show himself but hasn't gone anywhere.
I kept it low in volume almost all the way through, on purpose. That way, when it finally opens up, you feel the small burst: the song dares, once, to say the thing it finds hard.
