About this release
I'd just made a fully instrumental album and I wanted the opposite: to sit down and sing. Pulso Infinito is a record of love ballads. I sang it looking at old Spanish song, the southern kind. That colour is in the way of singing and in the chords, not in any genre label.
I didn't think of it as a story with a beginning and an end. It's more of a songbook: love seen from several angles, and not every song is about the same person. In one there's desire, in another someone who won't let themselves be loved, in another the things you feel and never quite say. That's where the title comes from: there's a pulse that carries on from one song to the next, even though each one tells its own part.
The record closes with an instrumental piece of almost ten minutes. It felt like the best way to end such a sung album: turn the voice off and check that the pulse is still there. In the end I wanted two things: for the south to come through without underlining it, and for the songs to sound like someone singing to another person.
