About this release
Up until El Viaje Del Alma, every song of mine had been its own moment, closed in on itself. Here I wanted something else: for one piece to leave the door open for the next, so that all ten in a row would say something none of them could say alone.
There's no story with names in it, no plot to follow. What there is, is a movement: it starts by waking up to something, moves through doubt and a kind of inner storm, and ends up coming back — changed. I don't skip the darker stretches of that road along the way; to me, without them the return wouldn't mean much.
It doesn't need to be heard straight through, or in order, to work — but that's how I thought of it: start to finish, unhurried, letting each track hand the baton to the next. I'm fond of all ten equally, but it's still the album I least feel like explaining in full — I'd rather let it speak.
